MANCHESTER – It was a “Night in Paradise” and plenty of township residents were there for it. The occasion was the summer concert series Hawaiian Show which is a popular event at Harry Wright Lake.
“The turnout was incredible and everyone in attendance had a wonderful time. The show was amazing and the crowd was so generous,” Recreation Director Tracey Lynch said.
“We collected $731 that evening for those who were affected by the wildfires in Lahaina, Hawaii. People were still inquiring about giving a donation so we extended the collection date an extra week. Island Paradise Entertainment will be matching our donation,” she added.
Lynch also said the township’s annual summer concert series has been going very well. “The attendance at all our shows has been amazing. We love seeing everyone having a great time. Although Manchester Day had to be postponed, we had beautiful weather for the rest of the concerts. A new act this year was KBrown Express which our crowd absolutely loved.”

“They got everyone up and dancing and joining in on the ‘Love Train’ on the dance floor. Watch for them next year,” she said. The final show of the Summer Concert Series is August 23 with “Rock n’ Rhythm” and “The British Invasion Years” which also included a British car show.
Upcoming Events
There will still be recreation events as the summer gives way to fall.
Manchester Day will start at 2 p.m. on August 26 at Harry Wright Lake.
This fun filled day will include games, prizes, demos, rides, entertainment and fireworks.
“Yacht Rock Gold” performs at 6 p.m. “Steppin Out” performs at 7:30 p.m.
Free shuttle service schedule is available from the municipal parking lot, Bowker Field parking lot and senior villages (main club house).

Movies at the Lake featuring “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” will be at Pine Lake at 7:30 p.m. on September 8.
The September 11th Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on that day at Manchester Town Hall.
Movies at the Lake will be back to Pine Lake on October 13 at 6:45 p.m. for “Top Gun – Maverick.”
The Veterans Day Ceremony will be at 11 a.m. on November 11 at Manchester Town Hall
Officials said that with the road work expected on Colonial Drive, the Farmers Market unfortunately had to be cut short because access to the complex at Town Hall was limited.
