MANAHAWKIN – A two-vehicle crash at Lighthouse Drive and Buccaneer Lane sent one person to the hospital and left two others with minor injuries on September 1, police said.
The collision occurred around 5:55 p.m. when Jayden Rodriguez, 20, of Barnegat, attempted to enter the roadway and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Sindy Padilla, 21, according to a preliminary investigation by the Stafford Township Police Department.
Padilla suffered an arm injury and was taken by emergency medical services to Southern Ocean Medical Center. Rodriguez and his passenger, Nicholas Todisco, 20, were treated at the scene for minor injuries and declined further care.
Police issued Rodriguez a summons for careless driving. The roadway was closed for about 30 minutes while the crash was investigated and cleared, with traffic temporarily detoured.
