BERKELEY – Two men residing in the same home were arrested for possession of child pornography, police said.
The case started with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a group that learned an individual was sending or receiving images of child pornography online. They sent a tip to the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This led to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit identifying an IP address belonging to an address in Berkeley.
On January 28, the Prosecutor’s Office and Berkeley Police obtained a search warrant for the home of Keenan Black, 32. Devices he owned had child pornography on them, authorities said.
Two days later, as the investigation continued, officers came back to the residence to arrest Daniel Bailey, 20, who also lived there.
Both men were charged with Possession of Child Pornography. They are both lodged in Ocean County Jail pending detention hearings.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer commended the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, Berkeley Township Police Department, New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, for their collaborative assistance in connection with this investigation leading to the arrests of Black and Bailey.
Charges are merely accusations until proven in a court of law.
