Haworth, NJ – Veolia has prepared for severe storms moving through New Jersey this week as
the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby sweep up the East Coast. New Jersey is bracing for
significant rainfall and the threat of flooding through Saturday.

Veolia is taking all necessary precautions to protect the water supply and the communities the
company serves. The preparations include testing backup power supplies and taking steps to
ensure the integrity of dams, storage tanks and treatment facilities. Emergency response teams
are ready and Veolia continues to work closely with local and county emergency officials.

Jim Mastrokalos, Senior Director Operations, Veolia Water New Jersey: “Our
teams are mobilizing and doing necessary work to keep communities safe and protected. Veolia
has made certain we’re prepared to provide uninterrupted service and respond quickly and
safely to any emergency situations. Our team is making certain we have everything in place to
continue to provide water service to all our customers.”

Veolia serves more than 1.1 million customers across New Jersey.

Customers are asked to be weather-ready by checking their personal emergency preparedness
plans and making sure they have ample emergency supplies such as flashlights, batteries, and
food.

Additional, helpful emergency preparedness tips are available at www.fema.gov.

“Many local agencies and organizations work together with Veolia to prepare for hurricanes and
other severe storms,” Weland said. “We also urge our customers to be weather ready by
checking their personal emergency preparedness plans now, before an emergency strikes.”
