JACKSON – A woman was charged with multiple offenses after kicking and spitting on several officers during a disturbance at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, police said.
Officers from Jackson Police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department were called by Six Flags security on July 3 in regards to two parties who were refusing to leave the water park and were argumentative.
Officers were attempting to calm down the parties with security and advised the group that the water park was closed for the day and that they needed to leave.
According to police, one woman in the group assaulted a security officer, a Sherriff’s Officer and a detective by pushing them as well as ignoring their commands to calm down.
As a result, she was arrested. But not without a fight.
Police said that the woman became combative, kicking officers and pulling her arms away so that she could not be handcuffed. Officers said that she continued to ignore multiple commands that were given to her.
During that time, Sherriff’s Officers were arresting the other woman who was also combative.
After Jackson Officers handcuffed the woman, she was still kicking them which led to one being kicked in the groin. Police said that she spat at multiple officers and attempted to bite their ankles.
As officers tried to escort her out of the park, she refused to walk and dropped to the ground. It was around this time that she kicked one officer in the stomach.
Additional Sherriff’s Officers, Jackson Police Officers and New Jersey State Police responded in order to assist with crowd control.
Eventually, officers carried the woman out during which she spat in an officer’s face as well as kicked an officer in the head.
She was finally placed in the patrol car and brought to headquarters for processing where she continued to be uncooperative, police said.
The woman, identified as Kameron Serrano of Elizabeth, was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief, Obstruction and putting Bodily Fluids on Law Enforcement Officers.
She was subsequently lodged in Ocean County Jail. Officers sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. Meanwhile, the Ocean County Sherriff’s Department charged the other person in the incident but have not yet released her information.
The public are reminded that any persons arrested or charged with any offenses or crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
