JERSEY SHORE — Homeowners living near the beach with unusual, outdated or hard-to-explain houses could have a shot at a major renovation through the HGTV series “Ugliest House in America.”

Casting is now open for homes near the water that stand out for all the wrong reasons. Producers are looking for properties with mismatched designs, awkward floor plans, odd additions or décor choices that leave visitors scratching their heads.

The casting call says the show is not searching for minor repair projects. Instead, producers want homes that are especially strange, dramatic or visually overwhelming.

One selected homeowner will receive a $150,000 renovation intended to turn the property into a more stylish and practical living space.

Homeowners can apply at ugliesthouseinamerica.castingcrane.com.
