STAFFORD — A Manahawkin man was arrested after police said they found him driving a stolen vehicle and later recovered a second stolen vehicle tied to him.
Stafford Township police said patrol officers stopped a black Nissan Frontier around 6:22 p.m. June 11 near milepost 64.1 on the northbound Garden State Parkway. During the stop, officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen by Millville police on June 8 and entered into the National Crime Information Center database.
The driver, Colby Deck, 31, of Manahawkin, was arrested at the scene and taken to Stafford Township Police Department headquarters for processing, police said.
Detectives later conducted a follow-up investigation and determined Deck was also connected to the theft of a motorcycle that was being kept at a residence in West Creek, authorities said. Detectives went to the home and recovered the motorcycle.
Police said a records check showed the motorcycle also had been reported stolen by Millville police on June 8.
Deck was charged with two counts of third-degree receiving a stolen motor vehicle and was lodged in the Ocean County Jail pending an appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.
Patrolman Theodore Caporrino made the arrest and was assisted by Detective Zac Halliday.
