MONMOUTH COUNTY — A Red Bank man is facing criminal charges after authorities said he entered a stranger’s home while naked from the waist down and exposed himself to a juvenile inside an upstairs bedroom.
Ernesto Lozano-Zane, 23, was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and lewdness, a disorderly persons offense, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Tuesday.
Little Silver police were called to a home shortly after 10 p.m. Sept. 14 for a report of an unknown person who had entered the residence. When officers arrived, they found the homeowner outside on the front lawn restraining Lozano-Zane and preventing him from leaving, authorities said.
An investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau and Little Silver police determined that Lozano-Zane allegedly entered through an unlocked front door and went upstairs.
Authorities said he entered a bedroom occupied by a juvenile while nude from the waist down and exposed himself. The juvenile alerted other family members that an unknown man was inside the house, according to prosecutors.
Investigators later located clothing and other personal belongings belonging to Lozano-Zane in another bedroom, authorities said.
Lozano-Zane was arrested at the scene and remained in custody pending proceedings in Monmouth County Superior Court. A detention hearing was tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The case is being prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutors Danielle Zanzuccki and Diane Aifer of the Special Victims Bureau. Lozano-Zane is represented by attorney Chris Hareas of Freehold.
The charges are accusations. Lozano-Zane is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
