TOMS RIVER — A Trenton man has been sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison for distributing fentanyl in Ocean County, authorities said.
Seption Diggs, 30, was sentenced May 29 by Superior Court Judge Dina M. Vicari after previously pleading guilty to distribution of fentanyl, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer. Diggs entered the plea April 13.
Authorities said the case stemmed from a two-month narcotics investigation during the summer of 2025 involving local, county and federal agencies. Investigators identified Diggs as a person distributing heroin and cocaine in the Ocean County area.
On Aug. 5, detectives conducting surveillance in Trenton saw Diggs meet with Ahmia Tillery, 27, also of Trenton, and get into her vehicle, authorities said. The vehicle later traveled toward Jackson Township, where Jackson police conducted a motor vehicle stop. Diggs and Tillery were arrested without incident.
Detectives then searched Tillery’s vehicle under a court-authorized warrant and seized heroin and cocaine, authorities said. In total, investigators recovered about 2,580 doses of heroin and 59 grams of cocaine during the investigation.
Diggs and Tillery were both charged and taken to the Ocean County Jail. Diggs has remained jailed since Aug. 5, 2025. Tillery was released Aug. 12, 2025, under New Jersey’s bail reform guidelines.
Authorities said Diggs later cleared Tillery of wrongdoing when he entered his guilty plea. As a result, the charges against Tillery were dismissed in the interests of justice.
Billhimer credited Assistant Prosecutor Alec DeBari, who handled the case for the state, along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Asset Forfeiture Unit, the FBI Red Bank Jersey Shore Safe Streets Task Force, the DEA HIDTA Group 5, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office units and several Jackson Township police units for their work on the investigation.
