MANCHESTER – The school year is about to start, and it will kick off with two new principals at two of the township’s schools.
New Manchester Township High School Principal Jamie Brown is excited about his new position, according to the district. He brings more than 24 years of experience in public education, serving as a high school English teacher and PEER Leadership Coordinator at a National High School of Character, Old Bridge High School, before becoming a vice principal in both New Jersey and South Carolina.
Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to building strong school cultures, improving student achievement, and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, families, and the community, officials said.
Brown has led initiatives in student leadership, character education, restorative practices, and school culture revitalization. Jamie developed a district-wide student leadership PEER program for Old Bridge Township Public Schools and earned a National Promising Practice from character.org for ACCEPT University, a student-centered character education presentation series promoting empathy, acceptance, and inclusion.
He has presented best practices on whole-child development at the New Jersey Principals Association Annual Conference, as well as the Jostens Renaissance Global Conference. Brown is committed to working collaboratively with students, staff, families, and the community to build on the school’s tradition of “Excellence by Example,” where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated.
Kenneth Londregan is the high school’s new vice principal and brings his experience as a teacher in both general and special education settings, 12 years of service as a vice principal, and also briefly served as a school business administrator.
Throughout his career, he has remained deeply passionate about students, focusing on fostering academic achievement, building meaningful relationships, and creating positive school cultures where every student has the opportunity to succeed. His career in education as a classroom teacher and has since dedicated his professional life to supporting students, staff, and school communities through leadership and instructional support.
Replacing long time educator and administrator Evelyn Swift as principal of the Whiting Elementary School is Ashley Thompson who brings more than 18 years of experience in public education and a passion for fostering academic excellence, positive school culture, and meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
Thompson began her career in the Wall Township school district where she served as an elementary teacher for 15 years. During her time in the classroom, she developed a strong foundation in curriculum and instruction while creating engaging learning environments that inspired students to reach their full potential, officials said.
She recently served as the assistant principal of Monmouth Beach School for the past two years. In this role, she provided instructional leadership, supported curriculum development, coordinated the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), oversaw state and district assessments, served as the district 504 Coordinator, Anti-Bullying Coordinator, and HIB (harassment, intimidation and bullying prevention) Specialist, and worked collaboratively with staff and families to ensure every student received the support needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Throughout her career, Thompson has remained committed to building strong partnerships with families and creating schools where every child feels safe, valued, challenged, and inspired. She believes that strong relationships between home and school, high expectations, and a collaborative school community are the foundation for lifelong learning and student success, officials said.
