TOMS RIVER – Plea negotiations are continuing in the case against Victoria Anne Cranmer, a Little Egg Harbor woman charged with sexually assaulting a child and creating child sexual abuse material, after a prosecutor told a judge Monday that the state was seeking final approval for a possible resolution.
Cranmer appeared in Ocean County Superior Court on November 2 wearing jail-issued clothing. She has been held in the Ocean County Jail without bail since her July 8 arrest.
Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Lynn Juan told Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer that the state and defense had continued negotiations, including as recently as Friday. Juan said she needed final authorization from her office and requested another week to a week and a half. By agreement, the judge adjourned the case until Friday, November 13. No plea agreement was announced in court.
Cranmer, 25, faces charges of second-degree sexual assault and manufacturing child sexual abuse material, as well as third-degree charges of endangering the welfare of a child and possessing child sexual abuse material. She is represented by defense attorney Conor Kane.

The charges stem from an investigation that began after a friend discovered a video on a cellphone Cranmer had left behind, according to an affidavit of probable cause described in an earlier report by Jersey Shore Online. The phone had been given to Cranmer as a gift. Investigators said the video showed a child in contact with Cranmer’s exposed genitals.
The friend preserved the recording and turned the phone over to investigators, who later obtained search warrants for the device and Cranmer’s Snapchat account. A forensic examination uncovered additional videos involving Cranmer and the child, according to the affidavit. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office approved the charges on July 7 following a joint investigation.
At an earlier court appearance, prosecutors described the allegations as involving a child younger than 13. Cranmer is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
