ATLANTIC COUNTY – A 28-year-old Toms River resident has admitted making violent threats during a road rage encounter in Atlantic City and could spend up to three years behind bars.
Frank Marin pleaded guilty Tuesday in Atlantic County Superior Court to a charge of third-degree terroristic threats, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The case stems from a Sept. 12, 2025, incident that began after a driver stopped at an intersection to allow an ambulance to pass. Investigators said Marin, who was driving a white Nissan Altima, allegedly continued through a red light and nearly crashed into the other vehicle.
The near collision led to an argument between the two drivers on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
According to prosecutors, as the other driver attempted to leave the area, Marin maneuvered his vehicle to block the driver’s path before making threats to kill both the man and his dog.
Authorities said Marin then got out of his car carrying a Taser and walked toward the victim’s vehicle. Fearing the situation was escalating, the victim drove forward, striking Marin’s parked Nissan before Marin got back into his own vehicle and left the scene.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors will seek a three-year state prison sentence when Marin appears for sentencing on Aug. 18.
