LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP — Authorities in Ocean County have charged two people following a narcotics investigation targeting alleged drug distribution within Long Beach Township, police said.

The inquiry, which concluded April 24, was led by the Long Beach Township Police Department with assistance from its K-9 and Operations units.

As a result, police arrested Angela Mezzina, 39, of Waretown. She faces charges including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine and suboxone, and possession of drug-related paraphernalia.

Michael J. Miceli, 61, of Barnegat Township, was also taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both individuals were processed at police headquarters and later released, according to authorities.

Police credited several officers for their roles in the investigation, including Sgt. Petrone, Patrolman Stambaugh, K-9 Rogue, Patrolman Cipriani and Patrolman Burkhard. The department also acknowledged assistance from the Waretown Police Department.

Officials said the investigation reflects ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activity and maintain public safety in the community.

All charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
