MANCHESTER – A Whiting man has died from injuries he suffered after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month, police announced.
Richard J. Fescharek, 43, died Aug. 14, five days after the crash at County Route 530 and Swift Circle in the Whiting section of Manchester Township, according to police.
Authorities said Fescharek suffered multiple life-threatening injuries in the Aug. 9 crash, which occurred at about 9:37 p.m.
Police said their investigation remains active. Preliminary findings indicate that improper crossing by the pedestrian appears to have contributed to the crash.
No additional information about the vehicle or driver was provided in the update.
Patrolman Anthony DeBlasio of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash.
