BRICK — A 24-year-old man was killed when a car struck him as he crossed Brick Boulevard late Oct. 24, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
Police arrived near the intersection of Brick Boulevard and North Lake Shore Drive around 11:30 p.m. and found the pedestrian in the road with fatal injuries.
Investigators determined the man was crossing at the intersection when a southbound Ford Taurus hit him, authorities said. The driver traveled a short distance before stopping and returning to the scene on foot.
The prosecutor’s office did not identify the pedestrian or driver in its announcement.
The investigation remains ongoing and involves the prosecutor’s Vehicular Homicide Squad, Brick police, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the county medical examiner’s office.
