WHITING – A recent ribbon cutting christened the Whiting Veterinary Clinic and featured veterinarian Dr. Ashley Leo, staff members, Mayor Joseph Hankins and Councilwoman Sandy Drake.
Dr. Leo is known in the area as she previously served as Dr. Lisa Schorr’s lead technician for many years and started her career at Whiting Veterinary Clinic in 2012 as a veterinary assistant, back when the clinic was still located in the small corner suite that many area residents remember.
Alongside Dr. Schorr, she played an instrumental role in helping the practice grow into what Whiting Veterinary Clinic became, and a practice that she loves.

Dr. Leo said that the clinic’s goal is “to restore the clinic to its former standard of care and community connection. We hope the changes you saw under corporate ownership will quickly become a distant memory under our new, privately owned leadership. Evening and weekend hours are returning! We plan to meet the needs of the Whiting community by being available. We will be welcoming both former and new clients.”
As to what types of animals the clinic will see, Dr. Leo is primarily a small animal general practitioner, so most patients she sees will be cats and dogs. She is also available to see a variety of species on a case-by-case basis, with the understanding that she is not an exotic-animal specialist.
Species she will see include: rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds, and select farm critters. “We accept debit and credit cards, cash, checks, CareCredit, and pet insurance (billing depends on your specific insurance provider).”

The clinic is located at 108 Lacey Road Suite 14 (In the Whiting Town Shopping Center), in the Whiting section of Manchester Township. Reach them by calling 732- 849-0408, email whitingveterinaryclinic@gmail.com or visit facebook.com/wvc08759/
